Bold Reedsprite. Once a relatively proud member of the Magic Council. Now, he is the Magic Council. Single member, alone, scheming. His former position wasn't all that important and so now getting to decide everything regarding the Magic Council is rather...indescribable. The feeling of this much power yet also no power was...mind numbing, to say the least. Honestly, Bold has no idea what to do next, more or less. Bold knows more members are needed in order to get the influence of the Magic Council back on track, but aside from employees, Bold couldn't think of another goal! Sad really. A 91 year old, red skinned, white bearded, long nosed, fat man in charge of THE Magic Council. Life is amazingly strange.

So, the gathering of members. Strong members. One's that would not die from the malfunctioning of another massively dangerous weapon that the Magic Council may or may not resurrect. Perhaps that immortal in the news the other day? Walking through town, dressing bold as usual, Bold started to look through the local job boards in an attempt to catch wind of some strong mages and fighters to help keep the laws of the Magic Council in check and stop chaos from rising yet again. The job that struck Bold the greatest was that of an allegedly immortal man causing all kinds of trouble.

"Immortal, hmmm?"

Bold was rather questioning of the statements made within the flyer, but it was a better lead than absolutely nothing. Now all that was left was to look for the supposedly immortal person that could escape from most anything...supposedly. Hopefully this man is not only what the flyer says he is but also easily swayed by the promise of influence and rank within the New Magic Council. If not, then Bold wouldn't pay him anymore mind and attempt to dispatch him. No prison means no prisoners.

It wasn't uncommon for Aergia to doubt her actions. She always felt like her own decisions were usually the source of the many "troublesome affairs" she typically found herself in. It was no different whenever she would take up a job in hopes of earning some money. She didn't like the idea of having to deal with some "Immortal Man", even though the idea of meeting someone who was actually immortal was fascinating. But, alas, as per usual, she needed the money as her absent-mindedness with it had once more left her rather broke.

There were other jobs, but this one seemed easy enough... to her at least. To her the one's that involved trivial work like finding lost items was the most troublesome. Still oblivious to the fact that they were actually the one's that got her into the predicaments she often times found herself in. Someday she might realize her own flawed naivety, but for now, her focus was on getting this job finished before nightfall for sleep was the only night time activity she enjoyed partaking in.

And as she arrived in the small town, she ignored the surprised looks that followed as she walked. Her feet led her to no where in particular. Perhaps hopeful that the job would be easier than anticipated. That the man may still be in town and that she wouldn't have to put any extra effort into actually finding him. A fool's dream, she knew. And as she explored the unfamiliar town, her annoyance grew by the second. Her feet grew more tedious walking through the town that it did when she travelled from town to town out of restlessness.

She finally found herself back to square one at the entrance to the town, and with a sigh, she realized that she would actually have to put forth some effort. A almost childish whine erupted from her as she focused her magical power. Clones sprouted out of thin air about her, surprising the citizens and denizens perhaps a bit. She probably shouldn't make it so obvious that she was a mage, but what did she care.

Her clones already knew what to do as they went about the city, searching and asking questions.

Having decided on his next action, Bold turned around and found something more interesting than a supposedly immortal man; several, perfectly identical woman all across the town asking questions. Having had a relatively high rank within the Magic Council before the 'incident', he was familiar with most of the forbidden magics, most of which were Black Arts associated with Zeref and whatnot. What it looked like to Bold was a woman who had seemingly mastered either Illusion Magic, Arc of Embodiment, or the forbidden Black Arts - Clone Magic. The woman were talking and making while occasionally being bumped into so being an illusion would be difficult. Therefore it would either be Arc of Embodiment or Clone Magic. Who knows? Maybe even some other form of magic that involved the perfect replication of an entity? There was only one surefire way to find out, and that would be to find the source of the clones.

"Wait...maybe they are all just identical siblings?"

With old age came great and rather annoying wisdom. Perhaps Bold really was overthinking things? Can't know until every little fact surfaces. Speaking of surfacing, where would this Immortal Man be? With this many people being asked all sorts of question about the identity of the Immortal Man and his possible location at this point in time, the Immortal Man may have already been spooked away. At this point there is no choice but to-

"The Immortal Man uses clones to get out of sticky situations! Ah...but these beings here are all women."

Another clue busted and thrown out the window. Baka was clearly a man in the description of the job. "He" was written all over the place. At this point, Bold was becoming exhausted and decided to just let Baka commit a crime in order to find him. Bold scratched his head with one of his ring-arms and started to walk around town, waiting for a crime to happen.

Things weren't working out in her favor. Although, really and truly, she wasn't surprised by that revelation since things rarely did. Already the job was proving tedious to her and as she passed by a small inn, the temptations of going inside and taking a nap was promising. But, alas, she was too broke as is even for that.

Her clones weren't making any progress. She had managed to get some answers from everyone in the town who was willing, which including the one who had put up the job request in the first place. Although that proved to bring no answers since the man only knew that the man would often times switch between staying in a unknown spot in the city and staying in a unknown place just outside the town.

Exploring outside the town was going to be even more tedious though and she was hoping it wouldn't have to come to that. She could practically spend hours exploring outside the town and not find anything. She was operating on a self appointed schedule that she was intent on keeping. She couldn't help think that she was perhaps making it all the more worrisome by giving herself such a time limit, but she naively ignored that too.

One of her clones had happened to stumble upon a particularly strange bloke in the town. Old, long nose, oddly shaped. Albeit, she truly wasn't one to speak about strange considering her current predicament. She wouldn't be surprise if to the people in the town, even he seemed normal now since there were a bunch of her running around in scanty claddings.

That was irrelevant though, she let her thoughts stray from the strange man to her objective. It was perhaps obvious what her objectives were by now though. She just hoped that there wasn't anyone else with the same interest. It wouldn't be the first time someone had annoyingly let her and her clones do all the work and then quickly swoop in and steal her profit. Well of course, she allowed them most of those times sincethey usually wanted to fight, but that was besides the point.

PostSubject: Re: The Immortal Man? [open|mission]   The Immortal Man? [open|mission] I_icon_minitimeSun Aug 23, 2015 11:59 am

It wasn't long until Bold got bored rather than exhausted. He recovered from his "wisdom" and thought back to the numerous, scantly clad woman asking all those questions. There was a possibility that this person really was a mage with a powerful enough magic to create so many clones. If so, then it would be of the utmost importance that Bold at least attempt to recruit her, assuming the clones originate from a female. The ability to create so many clones would help with gathering intelligence, as it seems to be helping now with the Immortal Manhunt.

Both an Immortal Man and a Cloning Woman in the same place, hopefully. Rather convenient that I be here, too.

Convenient indeed for the Magic Council, aka Bold Reedsprite, needed more members, though not just any random mage with skill. A simple fire mage needed to have talent and power almost literally shooting out of their ass if they wanted to impress Bold. The old council didn't have enough power and therefore fell due to their own blunder. In fact, with enough power, Face wouldn't need to have even been created, much less the Etherion Cannon. Bold could only imagine the power that he could build up for the Magic Council and ended up being bold enough to actually ask one of the many identical woman if she, or her creator, would consider working with the council. However, being as old as he is, Bold forgot one of the possibilities involving this many identical woman...siblings.

"You, or whoever created you, seems to have impressive power. If I may be so bold as to ask, would you, or your creator, consider-"

And before that question could be turned into something sounding less perverted, a woman in need shouted for help. A crime currently in progress needed Bold's attention for the criminal may very well be Baka! The woman's purse was stolen. Not a very significant crime, to say the least, but at least it was something to bounce from.

Fortunately for Bold, the criminal made the mistake of running in the direction of the nearest alleyway which happen to be next to Bold's conversation. The man ran into the alley and Bold dashed forward, grabbing the man by his shirt collar and pulling him to the ground. With a hard thud, Bold's right foot plopped onto the fallen thief's chest and stayed anchored for interrogation;

"Are YOU the Immortal Man?"

With Bold's massive size and strange look, the thief ended up being too scared to respond right away, however, Bold soon realized that if this man was Baka, he would have easily escaped his foot's anchor by now, supposedly. The job flyer did say that Baka has successfully escaped capture several times. On top of that, if the man was immortal, why simply steal a woman's purse? With a sigh, Bold snatched the purse from the shaking thief's mitts, relieved his anchored foot, and let the thief run off unpunished. The purse was returned and Bold was exhausted again, now know how troublesome this Immortal Man really was. What kind of crimes did he commit anyway!?

This was getting old fast. She was only drawing unnecessary attention to herself at this point. She was starting to the think the mission was not as serious as the request was leading on. If this man was such a menace, surely he should have been doing something by now. Or at least people would have given her some information on him by now. Alas, most of the people only knew he would appear in the town and then either disappear or die, only to return later. A truly useless bunch of citizens/denizens indeed.

When at last one her clones bared witness to a robbery, Aergia gave the order to pursue the thief, following closely behind a certain strain bloke. If the guy she was looking for was such a menace, surely he wouldn't just be stealing purses like some common thief. Albeit, it was something. Something that proved to lead to nothing as once they had cornered the man in the alleyway, he proved as harmless and and useless as the clothes she wore.

When the sudden explosion sounded, Aergia couldn't help but crumble to her feet in pain of the noise. A few of her clones had been close to the explosion and their joint hearing only served to make the noise several times louder. With a growl, she rose to her feet again, ignoring the dust that now clung to her bare skin. "You don't seem completely useless and we seem to be searching for the same person, follow me," she said, of course leaving out the part that she had no plans on sharing her earnings.

She transferred her psyche to her clone closest to the explosion now and dismissed all the rest save for the one en route with the strange bloke. The smell of smoke burned her nose far too much already. Perhaps she was being far too picky. No time, to contemplate it as she watched he building quickly come to flames. It seemed to be a restaurant from what little she could make out from it. She cared not for the building though for her eyes roamed her surrounds for the man who would feed her for the next month or so.

As we discussed, feel free to add, ignoring or whatever what you want to the thread. Baka will be around the explosion area, so pretty much feel free to take it from there.

The thief was off and the clone that Bold attempted to finished a question with started to talk to Bold, rather rudely might I add. Bold glazed the womanly creation or creator or whatever and noticed that clothes were just as much a puff of thin air to her as much to Bold, more or less...much less. All the same, her high talk gave way to some personality that Bold may be able to exploit given enough leverage. If Bold could just learn more then he may be able to "persuade" her to join the Magic Council was some sort of "Head of Intelligence" or nonsense like that. Maybe even a chairman? Time could only tell.

"Completely useless?"

BOOM!!! An explosion occurred and the many identical women were seemingly in pain. The explosion may have either involved a clone's death, in which case all the others could feel each others pain, or the explosion simply spooked all the identical women. Either which way, Bold could now confirm that these women were all some form of Clone Magic, the forbidden Black Art. However, being an illegal magic wasn't at all concerning to Bold. Quite the opposite actually! Bold now NEEDED the woman responsible for the clones! Bold gladly followed the remaining woman towards the intended destination in hopes of not only catching the Immortal Man who seemed all too responsible for such a high profile crime, but also in order to "seduce", so to speak, the clone in charge!

Today is a good day for the council. Two birds in one town. Now all I need is a stone and a better metaphor.

The woman and Bold ran towards the burning building in hopes of catching the Immortal Man in the act. However, the building being burned down was simply a restaurant. Why a restaurant? There isn't much money to be made in such a difficult business. Why blow it up?

"Wait! It's a distraction!"

Bold looked around in hopes of seeing a person running around in the background of all the chaos. Someone that looked to be robbing or burglarizing anything in sight. Both fortunately and unfortunately for Bold, he found several people robbing unexpected bystanders looking in shock at the burning building while also seeing those very same people burglarizing other nearby buildings. The fortunate part of this discovery was the culprit's methods, a form of cloning magic. The unfortunate part was the supposed "immortality" that the Immortal Man possessed. Bold was too disappointed with his recent discovery and just summoned forth his Legendary Tengu Beast of Mythology to round up all the robbers and burglars, killing them one by one with tremendous speed and reach. If the ringleader of the many duplicates was smart, he'd probably be closer within the vicinity of the burning building so as to cover his tracks.

Indeed, a restaurant was quite mysterious. Aergia was naive and oblivious, but she was smart. Years of having her family force knowledge down her throat no doubt. And while it came in waves, the woman was intelligent when need be. And the restaurant certainly drew her suspicion. The elder's own words concurred her thoughts, and she was greatly for that at least since she was truly too tired to be bother with analytic speculations.

She reduced her clones to two to at least conserve energy and followed the man's actions. Following wasn't her thing. She was a princess... a goddess to her people, but she saw benefit in him that could prove the job easier. A thin frown crossed her features as she now saw the source of the whole problem. She wasn't sure whether to be excited or annoyed that there was another person who possessed cloning magic. She settled on annoyance though as for the job, it only meant further difficulty.

For she knew herself how difficult it was to capture someone who had clone magic. She had more people wanting her for one reason or another than she could count. And this man, as if having clone magic, wasn't enough, he was also a midget. For his small size made it easy for him to rob the people blind. Then again, the town seemed overridden by idiots, so perhaps that was just sheer luck and perhaps why he remained the town for as long as he did. Regardless, she was perhaps envious since this man was making money and she, a princess, had been too broke to feed herself that day.

She let her own admirations fade though at the suddenness of the beast that appeared before her. And while the idea of telling the elder who summoned the beast that he was wasting his energy. That he was smart, yet stupid all the same. That the man as most likely not even within the town, for she had searched it from head to toe. She didn't. She still had no plans on sharing the profit and the man had perhaps exceeding his usefulness.

She didn't make any excessive effort to do so, but with the elderly man caught up in his creature's hunt for the useless clones, Aergia started towards the exit of the town. No doubt he could easily see her leaving since she was in no rush either, but she cared now. Most likely Bakaw as hidden on the outskirts of the town itself, she figured. Alas, it was still a mere assumption on her part.

PostSubject: Re: The Immortal Man? [open|mission]   The Immortal Man? [open|mission] I_icon_minitimeThu Aug 27, 2015 6:30 am

Bold's seemingly endless onslaught against the small clones that most likely came from the man named Baka, the now Not-So-Immortal Man. Sure Bold could have just called out Baka on his game and caused the little clones to flee with their small treasures, but Bold felt robbed of a powerful member. Granted, that Immortal Man that Bold sought never existed, but it felt nice thinking about a future with a wise immortal within the council. That is why when the image was stripped from Bold with the appearance of weak, mortal, and rather dumb clones rather than an Immortal Man with grand wisdom under his belt, Bold felt cheated and ashamed. The only person left that could be usefully recruited was the cloning woman. She seemed skilled, intelligent, and wise! She also seemed to have figured out that the burning restaurant was a distraction for something "bigger". Not only that, she seemed figure something else out, too.

She is moving towards the end of town. She must be betting that Baka has left by now OR is puppeteering just within sight of the burning building. I might was well keep these clone distracted while she investigates. All the same, I'm pissed. Screw'm up Beast of Legend!

Baka's trickery would be met with red fury in the form of Bold's divine beast that shined of gold and perfection! The Tengu Beast screamed a war-cry of epic proportions that traveled for miles due to the beast's tremendous size! The people of the poor little town ran away in terror but not due to the strange little clones; it was due to the beast. Kind of obvious at this point.

"I should silence the Tengu Beast before the villages next door decide to run as well."

Eventually realizing just how wrathful both he and the Tengu Beast really were, Bold commanded the summon to be quieter when "distracting" the clones while the cloning woman performed her scheme.

PostSubject: Re: The Immortal Man? [open|mission]   The Immortal Man? [open|mission] I_icon_minitimeMon Aug 31, 2015 11:35 pm

Walking at just above casual pace towards the outskirts of the town, Aergia arrived within the minutes. The sound of commotion from within the city still sounded in her ears from her position. She was glad she didn't have to be apart of it now. Alas, her eyes falling upon the unrevealing landscape, she knew her troubles were not all dismissed. Nothing but still land and gentle breezes greeted her, mesmerizing her eyes and caressing her cheek.

With a sigh, she once more brought forward a horde of clones at her service. More this time. She needed to be quick about it and with such a large span of land, she would need to do quite her share of searching. The clones, their numbers in the thousands started on their own paths, Aergia herself doing the same. She questioned whether the man even knew she was coming for him. She shared a unique hive mind with her clones, but such a technique was rather unique to her (or so she figured) and she wondered whether he would have the same ability. She wasn't even sure if it was clone magic.

The search of the area had brought her clones just about everywhere and anywhere possible. Her frustrations had begun to build and some of them had returned to the city in hopes of finding him there. Alas, it seemed the man wasn't getting the message as it seemed more and more of his clones were taking to the city. She didn't stop them, knowing that her own intervention would only make things worst. It was natural logic after all. He was a male with clone magic, she was a female. Her trying to stop him would only lead to her own quick defeat and possible humiliation assuming the man, like most men, deemed it his opportunity to make his mark upon her.

One of her clones returned to the strange bloke from earlier who was still holding down the fort within the town. "I can't find this guy. Any sagely ideas? You look like the sagely type," she confessed, sighing in frustration.

PostSubject: Re: The Immortal Man? [open|mission]   The Immortal Man? [open|mission] I_icon_minitimeWed Sep 02, 2015 9:49 am

The female came back to report that the man named Baka was nowhere to be found. With the seemingly endless amount of clones that needed to be dispatched, it was highly likely that the original would have to be nearby, or at least within the town somewhere. Bold didn't know much about what magic Baka was using for his cloning, but he did have an idea of how to ascertain the information. Bold looked towards the female and spoke some "sagely advice".

"If this many clones keep showing up, then the original must still be within the town. In order to know more about both his magic and his current location, then we must ask one of the clones."

With a quick whistle, which was actually unnecessary, the Tengu Beast grabbed one of the clones and flung him towards Bold. Bold promptly caught the flying clone with his ring of arms and threw the poor creature in front of Bold, just close enough for the red bellied councilman to step on and subsequently torture the breath out of the thing.

"What magic conjured you and where is the original Baka? SPEAK OR SUFFER!!!"

The clone seemed to break easily and attempted to say something underneath his gasping breaths. Unfortunately, it was cut short when the clone seemed to be forcefully faded out of existence. That could mean either one of two things; Baka could see what was going on OR the brand of magic that Baka used was advanced enough to know every thought going through his duplicates. Bold couldn't tell and so he turned back towards the woman. Bold then asked, hoping she could decipher the answers to the interrogation.

"Either Baka is close enough to see the skirmish or his brand of magic allows for telepathy between his creations. Do you happen to know which?"

At this point Aergia wasn't even entirely sure any more. In spite of what she lead others to believe, she was smart. As a person you were either good mentally or physically after all, and she certainly wasn't the physical type unless using her clones. that said, it was rather uncommon for her to be wrong. This man's magic differed from hers more than she liked... more than they liked—this was as much his problem as it was hers now after all.

She watched with dull interest as the elder's patience seemed to finally be wearing thin. Alas, ill tempers and frustration was going to get them no where. As was taking down the clones as they seem to reappear by the seconds. And it was quite obvious to her that the man's output was much better than her own. His clones were easily more than her own.

Although, something else caught her. She turned around, and seemed to mostly be talking to herself now, albeit her voice was loud enough for the elder to hear. "They are stupid," she began, pausing momentarily. "From the way the clones act I don't think Baka even has control over the clones. They don't react when they are attacked, they don't act together and they are dismissed the moment they get hit, they don't even steal anything. I don't even think he can see them."

She turned back to the elder once more. "This may be a cry for attention." She had a theory that the man was perhaps in trouble somewhere. But even that idea seemed unlikely since she had searched everywhere so far. Frustrations.
